We invited Wen Tien-Hsiang, CEO of the Taipei Golden Horse Film Festival, to share his experiences as a career film critic and as a curator. In the meeting, Mr. Wen focused on the impact of COVID-19 pandemic on movie production, he also shared with participants his tips on choosing what movie to watch under different circumstances. *Mr.Wen is the CEO of the Taipei Golden Horse Film Festival since 2018, he is also a famous film critic in Asian movies. Taipei Golden Horse Film Festival is the biggest annually film festival in Asia.

We invited poet Jen to share his personal journey throughout his writing career. We learnt that even in his darkest times Mr. Jen never stops following his inner voices, and it was during that time of self exile by the sea where his first book was inspired and created. Mr. Jen’s generous sharing open the grand door of imagination for our participants. *Mr. Jen Ming-Shin is a bestselling poet in Taiwan. Over 10 collections of his poems were published to date.

We invited Dr. Wu Se-Hwa, former Minister of Education of Taiwan, to share how liberal arts studies could help change the idea of innovation. Drawing from educational aspects, Dr. Wu encouraged students to revisit classic literature and get inspired by it. Dr. Wu also discussed how the emergence of new technologies, Artificial Intelligence, and social expertise help generate thought-provoking lifestyles for the next generation. *Dr. Wu is former Minister of Education of Taiwan, he implemented one of the biggest education reform in his term.

Professor Stanton shared his life long career experience in this event, his unparalleled insights into diplomacy make students rethink what it really takes to become a diplomat. When thinking back, he told participants that he had never taken any course on diplomacy or international business as an undergraduate. The only thing he count on was his interest in literature and his constantly paying attention to international events through NY Times magazine. Overall, professor Stanton’s benevolent sharing make participants get more involved into diplomacy. *Professor William A. "Bill" Stanton is a retired United States career diplomat. He is the formal director of American Institute in Taiwan (AIT), Deputy Director for the Office of Chinese and Mongolian Affairs (1994-95), Director of the Office of UN Political Affairs (1999-01), DCM, US Embassy at Seoul, Korea, etc.,

Sun has shown that this responsibility is more than the shadowy world of power and greedy in political dramas. From implementing international relations’ policies to assisting citizens and travelers in the host countries, the representatives carry out duties to protect a nation's sovereignty. Director Sun earn a master degree at Political Science from Brown University.

We invited Dr. Chow, former president of National Chengchi University (NCCU) share important tips on how to make a lifelong financial plan as a college student. In this tight-knit meeting, president Chow also provided customized financial suggestions to students that aims to involve in startups after their graduation. *Dr. Edward H. Chow, emeritus professor of NCCU, was the president of NCCU from 2014-2018. Before his presidency, Dr. Chow was dean of college of commerce, NCCU, independent director of prominent banks in Taiwan. (Yuanta groups, Uni groups, etc.,) Dr. Chow is a graduate of National Chengchi University and Indiana University-Bloomington.

Madame Zhang Xiao-yuh, representative of Taiwan to Austria, joined our gathering on 10/13 to share her experiences as a female diplomat. From building connections with others to balancing career and personal life, Madame Zhang showed how she has shined in the traditionally male-dominated field and encouraged attendees to follow their dreams, even when they’re seen as minorities. *Madame Zhang Xiao-yuh is a career diplomat. Before this position, she was the chairman of the Mainland Affairs Council, and the representative of Taiwan to Great Britain.

Professor Wu Chih-chung, representative of Taiwan to France, shared his stories from being a professor to Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs. In the meeting with students, Professor Wu provided insights on what makes a great diplomat and how he has strengthened Taiwan’s relations with European countries to date. It’s been a fruitful night for our attendees with Professor Wu’s generous sharing. *Professor Wu Chih-chung is the representative of Taiwan to France. Before he take the rein, he was deputy minister of Foreign Affairs Taiwan (MOF Taiwan).
